THE TWELVE COMMANDMENTS
Rev. 12/01/2006
1) In the interest of all members everyone should use and care for the aircraft with respect.
2) It is expected that all malfunctions will be written in the squawk log. If you feel the malfunction is serious enough to ground the Aircraft, notify a maintenance officer immediately. The large plastic "NO FLY" sign located in each aircraft's supply box may be hung on the throttle if you feel it necessary.
3) The use of dirt airstrips is absolutely not permitted in the Mooney and permission must be obtained from an instructor for any of the other aircraft to be landed on a dirt airstrip.
4) Do not run up on loose gravel. The renter will be assessed for the costs of propeller repair if the damage is their fault.
5) If an aircraft is flown out of our local area, the schedule must show your destination, the club trip board must be filled out, with intermediate stops. It's the responsibility of the pilot to obtain a weather briefing and to file a flight plan, If you cancel your trip or modify your route, amend the schedule. If you make a change en route phone a maintenance officer.
6) If an aircraft is away from its home base, the pilot is responsible for the cost of safe overnight securing of the aircraft. Tiedown is OK but a hangar is a must if there is severe weather (hail, thunder storms, etc.). Out of town maintenance must be authorized if in excess of $150.00. The pilot is responsible for returning the aircraft to Deer Valley airport in Phoenix at his expense, if weather, mechanical repair, or anything else causes an aircraft to be left in another city.
7) The club will keep its aircraft clean but the pilot is responsible for leaving the interior in clean condition and no smoking or use of tobacco in any form is permitted in club aircraft, period!!!!
8) Currency requirements: six hours in club aircraft within a 90 day period or a check ride of minimal time will be necessary. In order to comply with insurance requirements, club currency requirements must be adhered to. Any instruction given in club aircraft must be given by a Valley Flying Club approved instructor.
9) All flights must be scheduled and the aircraft returned as stated. Punctuality is important. A minimum of 2.0 hours rental usage per 24-hour period, that the aircraft is booked is required for Platinum and Gold level aircraft. The first 24 hour period begins at the time that you reserve the aircraft for, not when you actually leave.
10) Bookings in excess of 5 days or those made more than 30 days in advance require approval.
11) Damage to an aircraft by a pilot or passengers or lost items such as pitot covers or cowl plugs will be billed to the pilot. This includes cracked plastic or glass, torn upholstery, propeller nicks from running up on gravel, broken rain windows, detached air vents and other damage as a result of carelessness or manhandling.
12) A firm club rule is that passengers and children should be briefed prior to a flight and should not, under any conditions be allowed to operate equipment or close a cabin door.
